The
owners have purposefully given a “green” imprint
to their business by using a variety of systems and a lifestyle
with the aim of reducing man’s impact on the environment.
Thermal
solar panels provide sanitary hot water, a
condensing boiler limits heat dispersion into
the environment by recovering and re-using
heat that would otherwise be lost into the
environment, low energy consumption light bulbs
reduce the electricity used and the materials
used for renovation are all of natural origin;
wood, cork, salvaged bricks and tiles.
An
important system of purification collects and
treats wastewater with an Imhoff tank which
collects the water and purifies it by imitating
nature, before sending the unused water for agricultural
use.
This
system known as Phytopurification is particularly
common in Northern Europe and uses the natural
ability of plants to absorb and purify water
through this radical apparatus.
